Jessica Levman: Meditation On Blue, June 9 - July 23

We are excited to highlight artist Jessica Levman’s most recent body of work in this exhibition – a remarkable new series of paintings titled “Widening Circles”. Widening Circles is inspired by the vast ocean, sky and landscape of Newfoundland. They include string which alludes to a web or net, prevalent in the weaving and fishing cultures of Newfoundland. The string also delineates the “widening circles” of the landscape with its expansive horizon line. It is a landscape that reminds us of our ever-expanding universe. The figurative works in the exhibition reflect a core theme for the artist, that of embodiment and the exploration of our interrelationship with our environment and universe.
