The Stephen Bulger Gallery is pleased to present “Social Documents from 1968 – 1988”, our first solo exhibition of work by Jill Freedman.

Exhibition Dates: March 5 – April 23, 2022

The Stephen Bulger Gallery is pleased to present “Social Documents, 1968 – 1988”, our first solo exhibition of work by Jill Freedman (b. 1939, Pittsburgh, USA; d. 2019, New York City, USA), believed to be the first solo exhibition of her work in Canada.

As a self-taught photographer, Freedman began her career documenting The Poor People’s Campaign in 1968. Devastated by the murder of Martin Luther King Jr., she was compelled to action.
