Song of the North

Presented by Tirgan at Meridian Arts Centre, North York ON

Mar 08 - 10 2024
Song of the North

"Song of the North" is a cinematic performance that combines shadow puppetry and animation to tell the tale of Manijeh, an ancient Persian heroine rescuing her beloved, Bijan, and preventing war. This 80-minute epic love story challenges Eurocentric storytelling through a contemporary multimedia adaptation of the classic Persian tale from the Book of Kings.
