PEN CANADA’S WRITERS IN EXILE GROUP INVITE YOU TO JOIN THEM FOR AN AFTERNOON OF PROSE, AND POETRY.VOICES OF FREEDOM READING SERIES #3 WILL BE HELD ON SUNDAY, MARCH 26TH FROM 3:00 – 6:00 PM AT THE HIRUT JAZZ CLUB, 2050 DANFORTH AVENUE, TORONTO

Join us on Sunday, March 26 at 3:00 pm at the Hirut Ethiopian Jazz Club, 2050 Danforth Avenue, Toronto to hear the work of four celebrated writers who have now made Canada their home.

Ava Homa (Iran), John Jonaid (Myanmar), Luis Horacio Nájera (Mexico), and Bilal Sarwary (Afghanistan) have been forced into exile for their defence of freedom of expression and human rights, but they have not been silenced.

    The event will feature writers from Iran, Burma, Mexico, Afghanistan. These journalists, novelists, poets and human rights activists are survivors of repressive regimes who fled to Canada. While their jobs in Canada have led them to new livelihoods, they continue to write to remain connected to their purpose and passion.
    Please join us in a celebration of freedom of expression and good company.
