A virtual book launch for ‘Interdependent Magic: Disability Performance in Canada’ with readings from the playwrights in Zoom and a Gather after party!
Join Playwrights Canada Press in celebrating the launch of the exciting new anthology Interdependent Magic: Disability Performance in Canada!
This is a live virtual event. We'll have readings from contributors Jessica Watkin; Alex Bulmer (Smudge); Syrus Marcus Ware (Antarctica); Frank Hull and Andrew Gurza of the Boys in Chairs Collective with an introduction from Debbie Patterson, Brian Postalian, and Jonathan Seinen (Access Me); Chris Dodd (Deafy); as well as an interview with Niall McNeil and Becky Gold.
ASL interpretation and captioning will be provided during the event. A written document of the excerpts to be read will be sent out ahead of the event and shared during the event. Please send us an email (info@playwrightscanada.com) by April 11 if you have any other access needs in order to attend. While the readings will be broadcast as a Zoom webinar, please join us for a pre-show virtual mingle and after party in the new custom-made Gather that functions as a virtual home and event space for Playwrights Canada Press! You'll be able to explore the space, chat with other attendees and authors, and feel as if you're at an in-person gathering while being at home.
