Learn the key concepts of VFX!
With stop motion visual effects, often you’ll know you did a good job if people finish watching and go “What VFX did you do? I didn’t notice anything”. Typically in stop motion, every single shot has some VFX element: Rig removal, compositing, green screen, particle work, virtual cinematography, etc. As much as the big explosions and gun shoot-outs are fun, most of visual effects work is much more subtle.
In this course we’ll go over the key concepts that any beginner VFX artist should know, along with a few anecdotes of mistakes I made, and how I fixed them. We will walk through completing a shot from start to finish, and more importantly, we will talk through the logic process required. More often than not, VFX is about planning and problem solving. Students that are new to visual effects are welcome, however it would be ideal to have a basic understanding of the After Effects software.
