Curtains Up! at Bell Manor Park

Curtains Up! at Bell Manor Park

Presented by Toronto Outdoor Picture Show (TOPS) at Bell Manor Park

Toronto Outdoor Picture Show returns to Etobicoke this August, the fourth chapter of its summer-long Curtains Up! programme in parks across the city. On Thursday evenings, residents of the Bell Manor Park community will enjoy three evenings of short and feature films showcasing the triumphs and pitfalls of performance, from circus tents (Charlie Chaplin's The Circus), to stage lights (recent Oscar-winning concert doc Summer of Soul), to the road to stardom (Josie and the Pussycats).

Pack a blanket and a great picnic for some wonderful evenings under the big TOPS screen!

Curtains Up! is curated by Artistic & Executive Director Emily Reid, TOPS co-founder Felan Parker, and programming contributors Rachel Barclay, David Osubronie, Jon Petrychyn, and Isabella Brown.

Accessibility Info

All current TOPS venues offer well-lit entrances from street access, ensuring that audiences feel safe arriving and leaving our venues (though please remember that the parks become quiet shortly after the screenings conclude). Patrons are asked to bring their own blankets and chairs, and all seating is first-come, first-served. All venues easily accommodate mobility devices and strollers. Attendees should respect each other’s personal space, demarcated by their own personal blankets. We count on our community members to be kind and attentive to one another. Food and snacks are available for purchase at the TOPS tent and from partnered food vendors, and patrons are encouraged to bring refillable water bottles (parks have water fountains and/or refilling stations). Information on the types of food available from vendors can be found on each screening’s Instagram post on the day of the screening. All TOPS staff and volunteers are provided gender-inclusive training. Content advisories for all TOPS screenings can be found at TOpictureshow.com/content so that attendees can make informed decisions about the screenings that they wish to attend.
