Experiment with movement as you design & animate a unique dancing character. This is a 3 hour workshop where we’ll make a 2D looping dance move in time to music. I’ll teach you 2D digital techniques, strategies for making freaky movements, and help you develop your character design skills.

We can talk about where we draw inspiration from for character design and how we can use animation to create unique character movement. I’ll teach you my 2D frame-by-frame method on Photoshop and a simple technique to create a looping dance move. We’ll chat about music with animation: how does your own taste in dance affect your character design? How do you imagine your character would dance to the song?

I’ll be demonstrating in Photoshop in this workshop but it’s open to other frame-by-frame programmes too. Use the workshop to make whatever you like! I’d love to put all the loops together later on for the full 2D disco.
