In-Depth Intro to Leatherworking.

In-Depth Intro to Leatherworking.

Presented by The Toronto Tool Library Makerspace at Toronto Tool Library

This class will have students learning the basics of leatherworking. Students will learn about the different types of leather and their uses. Students will create simple projects while perfecting basic leather working techniques, first learning to use a sewing machine for thinner pieces of leather then moving up to laser cutting for thicker materials.

Class is 3 hours a week for 6 weeks and will include a limited supply of materials so students taking on larger projects may need to purchase materials. Thankfully, the TTL Makerspace is located in the heart of the textile district and we have several leather supply stores nearby. Students will have the option to sign up for a TTL Makerspace Membership and be able to make progress on their projects between classes.
