Constantinople

Inspired by the ancient city illuminating the East and West, Constantinople was founded in 2001 in Montreal by its artistic director, Kiya Tabassian. The ensemble has released 19 albums on labels Analekta, Atma, World Village, Buda Musique, Ma Case, Dreyer Gaido and Glossa. Over the course of the decade, Constantinople has created nearly 50 works and travelled to more than 240 cities.

Benedicte Maurseth

An esteemed performer and composer in Norway's music scene, Benedicte Maurseth is a spectacular fiddle virtuoso, composer, and writer. An alumna of the Ole Bull Academy, Maurseth has toured extensively as a soloist and in collaboration with acclaimed artists from all over the world. She has worked with many leading artists across genres and artistic expressions, as well as composed music for television, theatre, film, and festivals. She has received countless prestigious awards for her extensive discography, as well as published books, articles, and essays about the Hardanger fiddle — sharing its history and artistry.
