ReelAbilities Film Festival Toronto (RAFFTO), presented by Miles Nadal JCC, is proud to present programming and new initiatives for the 8th Annual Festival taking place in person and online May 11-19, 2023. RAFFTO will screen 22 films, with 50% Canadian content, including shorts, features, and documentaries about Deaf and disability cultures and by filmmakers and actors with disabilities and/or who are Deaf.

RAFFTO kicks off May 11 with a virtual screening of the coming of age feature Jasmine Is A Star by director Jo Rochelle, with short film Rite of Identity by director Youmee Lee. Later that evening the Opening Night Gala at the Bata Shoe Museum will feature remarks by Artistic Director Lora Campbell, a sneak peek of 2023 programming, plus food, drinks and dancing with the fan favourite Silent Disco.

RAFFTO will close May 19 with a celebratory awards ceremony at Society Clubhouse to announce the winner of the Short Film Pitch Competition, followed by a performance by ASD Band.

RAFFTO will host Industry panels and In Conversation artist talks featuring Ebony Gooden, Katarina Ziervogel, Michelle Asgarali, Kai Little-White, Skye R. Regan, Sean Towgood, Greg Jeffs, Kara Harun, Kevin Wallis, Angelo Muredda, Anthony Q. Farrell, Ophira Calof, Jesse Griffiths, Alexia Vassos, Lora Campbell, Jasmine Noseworthy Persaud, Kitoko Mai, TJ Cuthand, Garrett Zuercher and more.
