Back by popular demand, captivating audiences and critics alike, this brilliant duo distinguishes itself with its musical integrity and charismatic chemistry. The Chinese-Canadian brother-and-sister are renowned cellist Bryan Cheng, prizewinner of the Queen Elisabeth and Concours de Genève competitions and pianist Silvie Cheng, 2022-23 musician-in-residence of Cecilia Concerts, Halifax. Named one of CBC Music’s “30 hot Canadian classical musicians under 30”, they have performed at Carnegie Hall and throughout Europe, UK, Asia, and South Africa.

The Cheng Squared are committed to presenting both traditional and contemporary masterworks. Since 2013, they have commissioned nearly a dozen new works.

Their “Straight from the Heart” program features works by Chopin and Rachmaninov.
