In a familiar transformed outdoor lot in the city’s west-end this July 15 + 16, you’ll find a celebration of rhythm without borders at Mixto Festival Toronto.

Amidst a summer full of festivals, Mixto stands alone as the place where there are no spectators, only revellers. Coming from the carnival tradition, Mixto’s atmosphere is a party.  The entire festival area is licensed, and the dance floor grows as day turns to night.

Hit the dance floor and experience live performances from a diverse lineup of artists including: The Bongo Hop & Nidia Gongora (France & Colombia) and their highly danceable blend of many different sounds and influences, from afrobeat to Colombian costa music, west indies, West African and jazz; Latin Grammy-nominated Afro-Brazilian singer, Luedji Luna, and young Colombian collective Bejuco, who are bringing their sounds to North America for the very first time at Mixto!

And, of course, it wouldn’t be a festival without food and drinks. Just like the music Mixto keeps it diverse in a very Toronto, unpretentious way. From Sri Lankan food by Saffron Spice Kitchen, artisanal frozen Brazilian treats by Geladona (named one of Toronto’s best summer street foods by Toronto Life Mag in 2021), to burgers, jerk chicken and bean-to-bar fair trade chocolate from Chocosol, the flavours are plentiful and there’s something for everyone.
