A physical theatre performance produced, curated and directed by Leelee Oluwatoyosi Eko Davis in partnership with Toronto Dance Theatre, created with and performed by a group of emerging, independent artists.
refracting giants is a physical theatre performance that is a culmination of Leelee Oluwatoyosi Eko Davis’ residency at TDT. Inspired by the creative exchanges and discoveries that were cultivated from Leelee’s research with the TDT ensemble, this performance is founded in Leelee’s desire to support bringing new artistic voices to the foreground. Leelee began working in 2022 with an emerging group of artists through a micro-residency they programmed called The Praxis Of Possibility.
The work is an exploration of time, play, and cosmic entanglement, created with and performed by emerging independent theatre artists isi bhakhomen, Jordan Campbell, brawk hessel, Anna Malla, and Merlin Simard, with collaboration from Artistic Associate Johnny Forever Nawracaj. ASL Interpretation is built into the performance, featuring Interpreters Rogue Benjamin and Jo-Ann Martin.
Tickets are pay-what-you-can. Ranging from $10 to $45, audiences are invited to select whichever ticket price option that works best for them. Seating is general admission.
Tickets are available online to purchase in advance. If a performance is not sold out, tickets will be available at the door (cash, debit or credit card accepted).
