Three painters – Catharine Somerville, Ramon Serrano and Christopher Baker – have all collaborated to embrace their own personal ideas of what “landscape” means.
This show is a collaboration among three
painters who originate from different parts of
the world. Two have never physically met. By
coming together through zooms and texts they
examine a painterly language built by coming at
the physical experience of being in an unlimited
expanse of the universe.
Landscape is an enchantment that tilts on
many interpretations. The land offers physical
space and heightens our experience by
encouraging us to imagine and explore what is
not seen but knowable.
Catharine Somerville, Ramon Serrano and
Christopher Baker embrace their own personal
interpretations. All artists have a strong
connection to Canada and have been touched
by Canada’s belief in freedoms, diversity and
respect for individuals.
