Vintage Taps presents The Laundry List

Vintage Taps presents The Laundry List

Presented by Vintage Taps at Al Green Theatre

Created by Vintage Taps founders, Trina Josdal and Amy Lintunen, The Laundry List is a hilarious prohibition-era escapade chock full of run-ins with gangsters, narrow escapes from the law, and unexpected friendships. The Laundry List tells an original story of a motley crew of women bootleggers trying to stay clean at Frankie’s Suds and Bubbles. They scrub out spills and spots by day, before serving sips and taking the spotlight at night. The Laundry List has the classic feeling of old Hollywood and is packed full of energetic tap dancing from the Vaudeville era.

Filled with period music and Toronto’s leading tap dance talents, The Laundry List tells the story of sisters Ruby and Zelda Benoit, who embark on a wild adventure to save their family’s bootlegging business. The sisters go incognito and infiltrate the world of Frankie’s Suds and Bubbles—a speakeasy cleverly disguised as a laundry. Shimmying their way into the chorus, they two-step their way through a madcap mix of jazz singers, rum runners, and a whole lot of dirty laundry.
