Akhara is a series of curated conversations, a coming together for social warmth, conviviality and lighthearted cultural and intellectual discussions. Featuring Aqua Nibii Waawaaskone, an Anishinaabe Kwe, storyteller, artist and activist, this virtual gathering will be preceded by Rasoi, an online communal cooking* and hosted by Ronica Sajnani.
Akhara is presented in association with ArtworxTO Hub West exhibition, HOME(LAND) curated by Claudia Arana.
Participation is free but requires registration for both the talk and the communal cooking.
*Participation in Rasoi is limited and at the present available to people residing in Toronto & the GTA. The first 30 registrants will receive a food kit that includes the ingredients required to cook a simple meal of Khichdi. Please register before October 15, 2021.

BIOGRAPHIES:
Sharada Eswar is a South-Asian-Canadian storyteller, singer, community engaged theatre artist and a long-term creative research fellow with the Laboratory for Artistic Intelligence.
Aqua Nibii Waawaaskone is an interdisciplinary artist and activist and provides a safe space in her sacred circles and performances so the community can grow together, stronger, forever as a whole, as music truly is the universal language of love.
