Rabbie Burns Dinner

Rabbie Burns Dinner

Presented by St. Andrew's Society of Toronto at University Club of Toronto

The St. Andrew’s Society looks forward to holding our traditional Burns Dinner in conjunction with the University Club of Toronto. The event follows the time-honoured format with the Address to a Haggis, The Immortal Memory and Toasts to the Lassies and Laddies.

This year we are delighted to welcome Dr. Kevin James, Scottish Studies Foundation Chair and Professor of History at University of Guelph, as our guest speaker. Mike Wise will propose the Toast to the Lassies and Susan Grundy will respond with the Toast to the Laddies. We will conclude the evening with musical entertainment.

Tickets

Tickets (inclusive of wine at the table) are $140 for members of the Society and University Club. The price for non-members is $150.

Only 115 tickets will be available for this event so don’t delay! If you have any issues with your ticket purchase, please e-mail us at info@standrewstoronto.ca .

Dress Code

The Burns Dinner is a formal event. Kilts and tartans are not required but are encouraged. Those looking to get outfitted in Highland dress should contact William Glen & Son. They have a wide variety of sashes, kilts and other accessories.

Dinner Menu

The dinner menu will be as follows:

Starter – Winter salad with arugula, radicchio and baby spinach

Haggis, neeps and tatties

Main course – Roasted Angus beef sirloin

Dessert – Mixed berry and sherry trifle – tea/coffee

A vegetarian meal can be selected as an option for each guest during the purchase process. Dietary restrictions can also be noted at this time.

We hope you can join us in banishing the mid-winter blahs with some “richt guid” cheer. See you there!
