Caviar20 is proud to present “Dangerous Polaroids” an in-person and online exhibition dedicated to the works of Andy Warhol, Nan Goldin, Robert Mapplethorpe, Nobuyoshi Araki, Evergon, Barbara Astman, Helmut Newton, and Attila Richard Lukacs.
Using Polaroids was dangerous; it challenged the emerging photography canon, elevated a mass-market tool, banished dependence on a dark room, and enabled artists to create provocative images while maintaining control over their dissemination.
The diverse artists showcased in this exhibition share a common thread—each was inspired by the tactile and instantaneous nature of the Polaroid.
While “Dangerous Polaroids” celebrates the artistry captured within each frame, it also acknowledges the transformative power of technology in the hands of visionary creators.
