Actress and stage director Maud Andrieux will perform “The Vice-Consul” by Marguerite Duras on the stage of Alliance Française on March 19, 2024.
Through her interpretation of Marguerite Duras' iconic work, Maud Andrieux takes the audience to 1930s Calcutta, right at the center of French diplomatic intrigues. She skillfully embodies Anne-Marie Stretter, the wife of the French ambassador to Calcutta.
By presenting "The Vice-Consul" at Alliance Française Toronto, Maud Andrieux affirms her dedication to reintroducing Marguerite Duras' work to stages globally, all while venturing into new artistic realms. Her enthralling performance and nuanced direction promise a memorable night of theatre for lovers of literature and performing arts.
