Japanese Yosakoi Dance Workshop with Sakuramai Toronto

Japanese Yosakoi Dance Workshop with Sakuramai Toronto

Presented by Sakuramai Toronto at The Railpath Arts Centre

You're invited to join Sakuramai Toronto for a yosakoi dance workshop!

What is Yosakoi?
Yosakoi is a unique dance from Japan that blends elements of traditional and modern forms of movement. It is often performed at street festivals with teams of up to 120 dancers! Yosakoi is often distinguished by the use of wooden hand clappers called Naruko, and is growing in popularity all around the world for its unique music, costumes, and energetic team coordination.

About Sakuramai Toronto
Sakuramai Toronto was formed in 2011 and has been performing yosakoi in the GTA and in other regions of Canada since then. We've even had the opportunity to participate in a yosakoi festival in Japan! Our goal is to spread the joy of yosakoi to Canadian communities, and to introduce others to Japan's rich culture! Check out our Youtube Channel to see our performances, and follow us on InstagramFacebook and TikTok!

We are always looking for new members! We are hosting a 2-hour introductory yosakoi workshop for those who are interested in trying it out for the first time (Ages 18+).

To sign up, please RSVP using the google form provided.  We look forward to seeing you there. Let's enjoy yosakoi together!
