OUTSIDE/IN by Snaigé Sileika presents small still-life paintings of intimate objects of our daily lives displayed on the interior walls, and a ribbon of landscapes encircling us on the exterior walls —OUTSIDE/IN.

All of my artwork began with sketches that remained prominent throughout my painting process. They are used as a framework for images that stress the interplay of lines and coloured shapes – hovering between recognizable objects and abstract compositions.

Snaigé Sileika is a painter living and working in Toronto. She began her art career as a printmaker studying at the University of Toronto and Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Upon her return to Toronto, she became involved with the community of printmakers at Open Studio.

She has had solo exhibitions in Toronto, Paris and Vilnius, Lithuania. Her work is in the art collections of the City of Toronto, TMU (formerly Ryerson University), the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, the Lithuanian National Museum of Art and numerous corporate collections.
