The Heart 2 Soul Community Development 5Km Walk is raising funds to run two Heart 2 Soul programs that deal with mental health and dealing with the effects of isolation created over the past few years.  The Youth Unlimited Gain Ground Fundraising Strategy will be occurring in 9 neighborhoods across the GTA over a period of four days.  The Jane-Finch version is about gaining ground for the youth and their families in the community of Jane-Finch and will be taking place at the Downsview Park Circuit Path on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 10 am.

The first focus of the Heart 2 Soul initiative is the Wrap Around Care program.  The Heart 2 Soul Community Development Wrap Around Care program supports families and youth in the Jane-Finch area in identifying their own goals for their lives across all of the Social Determinants of Health (health, income, employment, housing, education, culture, spiritual/religion, etc,).  Participants of the program can then develop confidence in achieving their goals, and can begin to make more \'positive change impacts\' for themselves.  Monies raised go towards essential care, and also towards subsidizing counseling services for some clients.  Funds also cover operational assistance needed to run the program.

The Heart 2 Soul Fest festival celebrates the youth and their talents in the GTA in the Jane-Finch area.  By providing a barrier-free access to fun and opportunities for youth to showcase their talents and gain leadership skills amongst other things, Heart 2 Soul Fest celebrates and brings youth and community together to celebrate youth.  Monies raised for this H2S initiative will cover the costs involved with providing this free event to the community.
