The pity party that you actually want to go to.
For those without mothers, Mother’s Day carries a bittersweet undertone. The cheery slogans, brunches, and “gifts for mom” ideas that bring joy to many are met with a deep sense of sadness and longing.
But this year is all about rewriting the script with Motherless Day. On May 12th at Paris Paris, Motherless Day will be held in celebration and commemoration of the moms who would have still wanted to be celebrated, in support of the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). It's a space to exist free of judgment, surrounded by individuals who won’t pretend to know how you feel (even if they do).
The ticket includes a family-style lunch, a welcome cocktail (or mocktail), a captivating set by Shohana Sharmin (the creative mind behind the award-winning dark comedy, "The Dead Parents Society"), flower-pressing, and other engaging activities. Plus, a portion of the proceeds will go to CAMH.
Tickets are $105+tax. There will be no tickets available at the door.
