Meridian Hall (formerly Sony Centre for the Performing Arts), Toronto’s first performing arts centre and, with a capacity of 3,191, Canada’s largest theatre, has played a defining role in the cultural life of the city for more than 50 years. Meridian Hall presents year-round programming including concerts, musical theatre, family entertainment, comedy, and dance. A “who’s who” of entertainers, politicians and other luminaries pass through its stage door. With catering and many completely customizable spaces, Toronto’s iconic theatre fills an entire city block and is proven to be an ideal venue sought out by corporate clients and event organizers looking for a unique location for their activities. Meridian Hall has limited accessible parking in the main driveway available on a first-come, first-served basis.
On the west side of the main lobby, there are individual gender-neutral washrooms and a universal washroom.
There is enough room for vehicles to make pickups and drop-offs in the driveway right in front of the main entrance.
The main lobby has an elevator to the mezzanine and lower lobby spaces for those who may need it. The elevator door opening is 42 inches wide.
ADDITIONAL ACCESSIBILITY INFO: Meridian Hall has dedicated wheelchair-accessible seating locations on the orchestra and mezzanine levels, plus other seating suitable for patrons with limited mobility (people who have walkers, crutches, service animals, collapsible wheelchairs, etc.).
Main entrance accessibility: the first door at the far right is an automated door with a push-to-open button to the right of the door.
