Flowing with hope and heartbreak.

A Black audience got to experience a special presentation of the new @obsidiantheatre and @tapestryopera co-produced opera Of the Sea. The night featured a powerful pre-show chat with the creatives involved in this story of African people thrown overboard during the Middle Passage who now populate mythical underwater kingdoms, as well as a post-show party.

In partnership with @tolivegram and on at the @canadianstage Bluma Appel Theatre until April 1, Of the Sea was created by librettist Kanika Ambrose, composer Ian Cusson, director Philip Akin, and conductor Jennifer Tung.

Until April 8, visit the @SusanHobbsGallery to explore The Pool in the Shell. This latest exhibition from artists Rhonda Weppler and Trevor Mahovsky (@weppler_and_mahovsky) develops their innovative work in foil repoussé, watercolour, and photography. Included is their relief sculpture Idle Hands. Inspired by the tools hung in the artists’ studio garage, it comments on the delicately held-together world of a studio.⁠

Until July 2, catch a performance of the spellbinding production Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the @mirvishproductions CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre.

Nineteen years after their last adventure, grown-up Harry, Hermione, and Ron are joined by a new generation of wizards for a mind-blowing race through time, spectacular spells, and an epic battle. Previously a two-part show, the Cursed Child (@cursedchildcan) has been reimagined into a powerful singular performance.
