All the Shining People by Kathy Friedman – By the Lake Book Club

Join Kathy Friedman for a conversation about her new book. Friedman’s debut, a short stories collection, is threaded together by the lives of Jewish emigres from South Africa to Canada. The stories speak beautifully to the human connection we all strive for and need, giving the reader a glimpse into moments of these memorable characters’ lives.

By the Lake Book Club offers six Tuesday-night events, between February and December featuring leading Canadian authors in conversation with Humber College graduates and alumni. Each in-person event includes a reading, discussion, audience Q&A, book-signing and American sign language interpretation. Virtual events include live subtitles, online viewing and audio.
