A simple cup of coffee with dramatic lighting, like a fruit still life, is a classic study for any medium. It’s a great way to strengthen your hand-eye coordination skills.
In this study, the palette is largely monochromatic so the artist can focus on tone, value, and light. The toughest part of this study is the many ellipses, something an artist shouldn't run from either.
This class is open to all levels, from novice to intermediate. First timers are also welcome. Materials are included, or bring your own.
