Choral Mass for the Feast of St. Mary the Virgin

The feast day is a particularly important one in the Church’s year. It commemorates Mary’s life and role in the history of salvation. Known also as the Dormition of Mary (The Falling Asleep of Mary) or the Feast of the Assumption, the day particularly recalls Mary’s resting in the Lord. It is celebrated by Orthodox, Catholics, Anglicans, and many Lutheran Christians throughout the world and has regained attention in recent decades because of the ecumenical relationships between the various churches.
Our choir is preparing some deeply moving and profound choral works which will enhance our experience of the liturgy that evening.
