A New Era of Artificial Intelligence: Envisioning the Future of Health and Science

Hear from AI researcher and entrepreneur Dr. Demis Hassabis as he delves into where we are with harnessing AI in health and science, where it’s going and what Canada should be doing about it. International Symposium

Inspired by the work of 2023 Canada Gairdner International Award laureates Drs. Demis Hassabis and John Jumper, this symposium will bring together top authorities in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to discuss the impact it has had and will continue to have on science and health equity, and possible issues it poses.

Engaging Global Communities in Perinatal and Child Health Research

In partnership with IDRC, SickKids Centre for Global Child Health and the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, Gairdner brings together emerging and established leaders in the perinatal and child health fields to discuss how communities can be engaged and involved in the research process. Speakers will present their own work, compare experiences in a roundtable, and network with students, community partners and researchers interested in pursuing their own collaborations.

Laureate Lectures

This highly anticipated event features lectures from the 2023 Canada Gairdner Award Laureates about their prize-winning research. The lecture will also include Early Career Investigators from across Canada who have won our contest and will present their related research alongside the laureates.
