Come with us behind the scenes of Dis/Mantle, part of Toronto History Museums’ award-winning Awakenings program. Inspired by the efforts of Black abolitionists, this art exhibit disrupts and reimagines the Spadina Museum (@tohistorymuseums) using an Afrofuturism narrative. ⁠

We sat down with Umbereen (@umbereene), one of Dis/Mantle’s curators, to speak about its message, significance, and impact during February’s Black History Month and beyond. ⁠
⁠
Check out this free exhibition until May 28 — and then enjoy the same type of access to any Toronto History Museum. General admission to the collection of 10 historic sites is permanently free to provide everyone opportunities to fully participate in cultural heritage and spaces 🙌.⁠
