Walk the same streets where deer once roamed, and where urban Toronto met the country.
In 1837, the Heath family purchased 40 acres on the northwest corner of Yonge and St. Clair and named it Deer Park. The neighbourhood included a racetrack, a school, and a hotel. Hotel guests could feed deer that roamed the land. The property was subdivided in 1846 and was sold off by 1874.
