ICFF Youth, Cafe Daughter

ICFF Youth is the annual film program of the ICFF that celebrates film as an art form. Our mission is to enrich students’ analytical and critical thinking skills while learning about the art of filmmaking. We invite you and your students to partake in our matinee screenings from April 8-13, 2024 with a multi-lingual program at Cineplex Cinemas Yorkdale.

Immerse yourself in the poignant narrative of “Café Daughter” at ICFF Youth’s annual film program, where cinema is celebrated as an art form. Directed by Shelley Niro, this compelling drama follows nine-year-old Yvette Wong as she navigates the complexities of her identity in a small Saskatchewan community in the 1960s, confronting discrimination and embracing her Cree heritage.
