Romeo Romeo w/ The Lilac Lovers @ Burdock Brewery

Romeo Romeo is a raw and evocative Toronto-based band founded by lead singer Nastasia PK in 2018. Blending grunge with a folk sensibility reminiscent of Joni Mitchell, PK’s lyrics offer blunt poetic prowess emphasized by her bold presence on stage. After co-writing two albums with her previous band, Pins & Needles, she joined forces with drummer Max Bornstein and guitar hero Duncan Briggs to bring Romeo Romeo to fruition.

The Lilac Lovers are an indie duo from Toronto. They work with themes of nostalgia, love, and grief. Lovers of Kurt Vile and King Krule will find yet another band to cry to. After meeting in college, Simon Van Heyst and Ray Goudy became pals and musical partners who feed each other’s artistry and have grown musically together. This project exemplifies both of their artistic spirits.

And the secret solo opener? This Toronto-born singer/songwriter has been on the scene for over 10 years. Her vocal depth and lyrical skill have been seen at venues across the city and beyond, including the Danforth Music Hall, the Silver Dollar, and Horseshoe Tavern.
