Pamela Mordecai is a Jamaican-Canadian writer whose most recent books are de book of Joseph (Mawenzi House, 2022), last-written but first of her New Testament trilogy in Jamaican Patwa, and A Fierce Green Place: New and Collected Poems (New Directions, 2022). She has published nine collections of poetry, five children’s books, a short story collection (Pink Icing), a novel (Red Jacket), and, with her late husband, Martin, a reference work (Culture and Customs of Jamaica). A veteran anthologist, her collections focus on the writing of Caribbean women. Mordecai is represented by Transatlantic Literary Agency. Her poetry is archived at https://mordecai.citl.mun.ca
James Dewar has been writing most of his life, but only started pursuing it seriously about 15 years ago when he left the corporate life behind him. His short fiction and poetry have been published in several anthologies and literary journals. His poetry collection, The Garden in the Machine, was published by Hidden Brook Press in 2007. His short story, Strychnine Blues, was featured in That Dammed Beaver, a 2018 collection of Canadian Humour from Exile Editions, edited by Bruce Meyer. He teaches fiction and poetry workshops throughout the Metropolitan Toronto area and enjoys leading international writing retreats with his partner Sue Reynolds. (www.inkslingers.ca) He edits poetry and prose in a mentorship capacity and enjoys his role as the co-publisher of Piquant Press and Stones Throw Publications. He misses hosting his Toronto series that celebrated poetry and poets for over a decade, Hot-Sauced Words. He is currently working on his fourth novel and his second collection of poetry.
