VIBRA (Vibes from Brazil) Festival

The VIBRA Festival promises to bring the heat of Brazilian culture to Toronto’s summer. With the motto “Vibes from Brazil” in English or “Vibes Brasileiras” in Portuguese, the event will have its first edition on August 12th, starting at noon, at one of the most famous tourist spots in the Canadian city, Stackt Market.

Organized by the international producer Showzaço, VIBRA will be a completely free festival featuring performances by acclaimed Brazilian artists known to the Canadian audience, including the samba school Batuca Carioca and the group Forró de Mané. In addition to local artists, the festival will feature the acclaimed show by the Bahian artist Pierre Onassis, formerly of Olodum, who promises to bring all the energy of Brazilian carnival to the Toronto audience.

For Ulysses De Paula, Artistic Director of Showzaço, VIBRA comes as an annual festival to meet the expectations of the Brazilian community in the country and to introduce the true essence and Brazilian cuisine to Canadians.

2 pm-3 pm – Forró de Mané ( Live band)

3 pm-4pm – Maracatu Mar Aberto 

4:15 pm – 5 pm – Dance Migration (Samba Class)

5 pm – 7 pm – Baile do Dj Douggy

7 pm-9:30 pm – Pierre Onassis ( Live Band )

9:30 – 11 pm –  Batucada Carioca – Carnaval Band
