CanAsian Dance

CanAsian Dance is working towards a world where openness to exchange, as well as culture specificity

in knowledge and artistic practice are not only valued but harnessed for collaborative creation. We

support Canadian choreographers who create work inspired by Asian ideas and practices; through

commissioning, presentation, and promotion. We encourage those artists to develop bold ideas and

questions to explore through research, creation and performance. The commission process cultivates

intercultural and intergenerational knowledge exchange. The promotion and presentation of these artists

results in a diverse and pancultural programme shared with the pan-Asian diasporic community and the

greater Canadian public.
