Scarborough Music Theatre performs out of the Scarborough Village Theatre at 3600 Kingston Road, Toronto, ON located at the north east corner of Markham and Kingston roads inside the Scarborough Village Recreation Centre.

General Information

Scarborough Music Theatre and Theatre Scarborough strive at all times to provide our services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of all peoples.  We are also committed to giving people with disabilities the same opportunity to attend events at our facility and allowing them to utilize the same services, in the same place and in a similar way as other customers.

If you require assistance at any time during your visit, please indicate your need to any of our Front of House volunteers.

Ordering Accessible Seating Tickets

Customers requiring accessible seating may order tickets by telephone directly from the Theatre Scarborough Box Office by calling 416-267-9292 during regular business hours.  We will do our best to accommodate specific requirements for seating for patrons with accessibility needs and their support person or service animal (if applicable).

The Venue

 Scarborough Village Recreation Centre is an accessible facility.

All exterior doors at the venue are powered doors and most of the interior doors are also powered.

Scarborough Village Theatre is wheelchair accessible.  There are 4 wheelchair accessible seats available in the auditorium. If you require this type of seating or have other special seating requirements, please contact the box office at 416-267-9292 to make arrangements.

The washrooms directly beside the theatre are accessible.

Row E in the auditorium is on the same level as the theatre entrance. Seating in all other rows require patrons to climb or descend stairs.

Hearing Loop/Hearing Assist Headsets

 Thanks to a generous grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Theatre Scarborough has been able to install a hearing loop system at the theatre. To use the device, please switch your hearing aid or cochlear device to the “T”, Telecoil or Telephone position.

If you do not have a T-Switch hearing device, please visit our Hearing Assist table or speak to one of our Front of House volunteers to borrow one of our listening devices.

If borrowing a device, you will be asked to provide picture ID and your name. The ID will be returned at the end of the performance.

How to use the headsets:

  • Place the lanyard strap around neck.
  • Place headset over both ears and adjust for fit
    • Switch unit on by turning volume control slowly clockwise
    • Please turn off the device when not in use. The LED light will go out.
    • Please return to Hearing Assist staff at the end of the performance and retrieve your ID.
    • Each device set is numbered and ID is kept with the number.

Assistive Devices

Patrons using assistive devices such as wheelchairs or walkers will be accommodated in an accessible area of the theatre. Patrons should pre-arrange seating in these areas through the box office at 416-267-9292

Support Persons and Service Animals

Theatre Scarborough will provide a complimentary seat for patrons who require a support person to accompany them.

Registered service animals are welcome at Scarborough Village Theatre at no charge.

PUBLIC HOURS

On performance days the box office at the theatre opens 90 minutes before each performance and remains open through to the end of intermission. Approximately, 6:30-9:00pm for evening performances and 12:30-3:00pm for matinees.

Please note: This option is ONLY available on performance days. The box office at the theatre space is not staffed on non-performance days.
